1.2. Have the applicant complete the Candidate Authorization form. If you do not have a copy, print one now.

STEP 2: SETTING UP YOUR ONLINE ACCOUNT
2.1. Select the link Enroll Here once you are ready to set up your account and begin screening. That link is found on the top left column of all ScreenChurchStaff.com pages.
2.2. Before you begin screening you must establish an account for your church or ministry. ScreenNow charges a one-time fee of $50 to set up your account. That fee will be added to your first order. You will need to pay by credit card.
2.3. If asked for a promotional code, use the three letter code REL which will cause the correct forms for religious organizations to be used on ScreenNow. Those pages have been specifically established for ChurchLawToday.com users.
2.4. Be prepared to create a user ID and a Password that you will use in the future to access your account. You must use lower case letters.
STEP THREE: DOING SCREENING ONLINE
- Key point. Have a copy of the applicant's written application available before you go online. You will need information in the application.
3.1. Once you enter your Account Number, User ID, and Password (all in small case letters), you will be taken to the ScreenNow home page. To begin a background search, click on the Background Screens link located in the left column, and then on the link Begin Search.
3.2. A map of the United States will appear. Choose the state you want to begin a search in.
3.3. The next screen lists the background reports that are available in that state. Click on each report that you desire. Use the Sample Screening Packages as a reference guide (see Step 1.3 above).
- Key point. Make sure you check the box at the bottom of the screen "Candidate authorization obtained?" That means the applicant you are screening has read and signed the Consumer Authorization Form mentioned in Step 1.2 above.
3.4 Once you are finished selected the reports, click on Continue Search, and then complete the next form which asks for information about your applicant. It will be helpful to have the written application form in front of you. Once you are finished, click on the Submit Search button to begin processing. If the information you have entered is invalid or incomplete, a screen will appear asking you to correct the problem. Once the information is corrected, press the ScreenNow button.
3.5 Once the order is complete, a verification screen will appear. If the information is correct select the Submit/Retrieve Now button.
3.6 The instant reports are returned immediately.
3.7 To view all reports you have ordered in the last 30 days, select the View Reports button which is located on the ScreenNow home page directly below the Begin Search button (you must first click on the Background Screens button as noted in step 3.1 above to get these buttons to appear).
